What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Georgia.

To Promote Uptake of HIV testing, CCR Launches Czech/UNDP-Financed Project

Thanks to the new partnership with UNDP Georgia, UNFPA Georgia, the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC) and Tanadgoma, Caritas Czech Republic started working on the promotion of HIV self-testing in Georgia. With this in mind, our project will roll-out different behavioral messages aiming at mobilizing the youth to conduct HIV self-testing, and – based on their effectiveness – will contribute to evidence-based policymaking of National Center of Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC).

On their business trip to Georgia, the Czech Senators Miluše Horská and Miroslav Adámek visited many places, where the development projects funded by Czech development cooperation have been implemented. Accompanied by the team of Caritas Czech Republic, the implementer of those interventions, the Senators visited rural as well as urban primary health care centres, children hospice, long-term care unit for children with severe disabilities, and the newly built family-style housing for persons with disabilities. Zugdidi Screening Center Saves the Lives of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Population

Thanks to the financial support from Czech Development Agency (CzechAid), Caritas Czech Republic has been conducting information campaigns on cancer prevention and early detection in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region since 2010. Initially, our organization provided medical examinations in the villages through a mobile clinic. However, for further medical services, locals had to travel to Tbilisi. In 2019, with the financial support from CzechAid, Caritas Czech Republic built Zugdidi Screening Center that enables the population of West Georgia to receive state screening services on the spot.
