The COVID-19 pandemic posed challenges to family doctors, among which the most difficult was the remote management and counseling of many patients. Based on the experience gained during the last 10 months and the recommendations of the World Health Organization, a team of experts has developed state protocols in home management of COVID-19, including post-COVID care of discharged patients.

Czech Caritas launched new partnership with Unicef to support primary healthcare in Georgia

Thanks to the support from the Czech Development Agency, Caritas Czech Republic has been working on the improvement of Georgia´s primary healthcare (PHC) system for four years now. Seeing the positive development, UNICEF decided to join the partnership and expand the original project with interventions in maternal and child health (MCH).

Caritas help the victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Because of the armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, up to 20 thousand of people living in Nagorno-Karabakh had to leave their homes, as it is the area both states want to gain. And therefore, Caritas Czech Republic decided to send 5,000 euros from its funds to help the refugees who have fled to Armenia. This money will be given to the branch of Caritas in Armenia which provides help in this area.

Caritas Czech Republic assisted to vulnerable families in Racha-Lechkhumi region

The damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic to the economy and human well-being is especially severe in the mountainous regions of Georgia, where the majority of the population is dependent on tourism and entrepreneurship is less developed. In order to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic, Caritas Czech Republic provided humanitarian assistance to more than 150 families in Racha-Lechkhumi region.
