Iryna Selina was born in Kiev and lived almost in the city centre. After the outbreak of the war, she moved with 4 adults and a child to Drohobych, in the west of Ukraine, where Caritas Ukraine operates. Our colleagues there help internally displaced people on the ground - providing them with food, clothing, accommodation and medical care. Zlata was about to start a new job in a production company in Kiev but it has been postponed indefinitely. The war put an end to her plans. She managed to escape Ukraine and is now looking for a job in Poland. She hopes to make a living as a photographer, but would be happy for any job. She wants to financially support her family, who have remained in Ukraine and are hiding from the attacks.

Adéla Procházková is the executive assistant at the Department of Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation at Caritas Czech Republic. Among other things, she is there to help volunteers and interns. As she says herself, volunteering is one of the ways to participate in shaping positive values in society.
