Project aim: to promote the mental health of the population of Georgia by improving the knowledge and skills of the medical staff working in the primary health care system to manage certain mental health conditions by the primary health care link; ensuring better coordination between the primary care and hospital sectors; Facilitating the implementation of the 2022-2030 national strategy for mental health.
Project partner: Ministry of IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia, Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection; Global initiative in psychiatry - Tbilisi.
Expected Results: For ten selected mental health conditions, the latest best practice and evidence-based clinical management standard - clinical protocol, guide will be developed and approved, and ten appropriate continuous professional development courses will be created, taking into account the gender approach; 1500 doctors of the primary health care ring should be trained in the management of selected mental health conditions; Regular meetings will be held to introduce the status of the implementation of the 2022-2030 national strategy for mental health to interested persons and parties; Mental health communication strategy will be developed; A list of mental health services for women victims of violence and people with disabilities and a map of territorial access will be created; 50 specialists providing mental health services will be trained in sexual and reproductive health; Teachers, psychologists and social workers will be trained in the care and treatment of people with mental health problems.
