Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure/services in primary healthcare facilities and educational Institutions

Project aim: to develop an electronic WASH monitoring system for health care facilities that will allow WASH situation analyses at all levels (HCF, district, and central) in compliance with JMP requirements for HCFs.

The system will have integrated infection prevention & control (IPC) and environmental cleaning-related variables in line with the respective guidelines and SOPs; 2) to develop an electronic WASH monitoring system for education institutions that will allow WASH situation analyses at all levels (school, district and central) in compliance with JMP indicators for schools.

Expected results: The WASH in HCF e-module with approximately 1600 users (rural HCFs country-wide) will be created. The WASH in HCFs will be integrated with the existing E-HMIS at 10 HCFs; The WASH in Schools e-module with approximately 2000 users will be created. The WASH in Schools will be integrated with E-EMIS at 10 selected schools; Public health guidelines and SOPs in environmental cleaning and IPC. Those will be integrated into the e-module for HCF; Guidelines for environmental resilience will be developed; Medical Staff of 935 rural ambulatories will be trained in public health guidelines/IPC and SOPs; The staff of 67 educational resource centers trained in guidelines for WASH in school climate resilience programming.
