Full name of the Project: Promotion of sustainable waste management and recycling practices in Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti region of Georgia

  • Project duration: March 2021- September 2021
  • Description: The aim of the project is to improve the efficiency of environmental protection in the field of waste management and recycling in Georgia through the consultations of municipal authorities on implementation of EU rules and regulations and best practices in waste management and recycling and through the awareness raising of the local population. As the result of the project, the capacities of municipal authorities in Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti region to implement environmental-related provisions of EU-Georgia Association Agreement and best practices in waste management and recycling will improve and public awareness of the environmental problems associated with waste sorting and recycling will be raised. Subsequently, the municipal authorities will enhance their waste management practices, which will result in positive effect on the environment as well as on people´s health. The population itself will be more environmentally cautious and will engage more actively in waste reduction, separation, recycling, and reuse.
