Story of Ani Butskhrikidze

Ani is raising her husband’s late brother’s (bereaved) children along with her own. She is also taking care of her disabled mother and elderly father. Ani had to suddenly move from Tbilisi to Racha.

Life in Racha turned out to be difficult for those left without a job.
“We have been wrestling with this situation for 4 years. One day a representative of Caritas Czech Republic visited us and told us that under the Slovak grant, 40 chickens would be given to us as a gift. This opportunity made our stay in Racha more realistic. I felt thought that a large family with a small farm (which means raising chickens and laying eggs) would be able to get ourselves out of this situation. In the fall we received as a gift 40 winged chickens, 8 bags of food and a veterinary package. "Caritas Czech Republic has really changed my life and living on a small farm in Racha has now become promising." Says Ani Butskhrikidze.
