Caritas Czech Republic continues to provide online trainings for family doctors throughout Georgia

The COVID-19 pandemic posed challenges to family doctors, among which the most difficult was the remote management and counseling of many patients. Based on the experience gained during the last 10 months and the recommendations of the World Health Organization, a team of experts has developed state protocols in home management of COVID-19, including post-COVID care of discharged patients.

Within the framework of the Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia’s Health Projects, those protocols have been successfully introduced to family doctors working in rural areas throughout Georgia. Overall, 900 doctors participated in the training course, which was requested by the Ministry of Health of Georgia and was implemented with the financial support of the Czech Development Agency.

"Managing the epidemic situation remotely is challenging for doctors. Despite many difficulties, training conducted by CCRG helped to alleviate this burden. Remote consultation of professional trainers in difficult case management is an extension of support. Thanks to the team of professionals of the Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia for all the projects implemented in our country.”- said Tea Sakhokia, a doctor at a rural outpatient clinic in the Samegrelo region.
