Supporting Georgian health care system to provide quality medical services during Covid-19 pandemic

  • Project Duration: January - June 2021
  • Project Partners: Georgian Medical Holding and Ministry of Health and Emergency Situation Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center. 
  • Description: The Project Supply Covid-hotel with the portable oxygen-concentrators: Covid-hotels in Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti and adjacent regions will be provided with portable oxygen-concentrators, which are needed in case when life-threatening respiratory problems occur in covid19 patients.

    Organize trainings to medical staff of covid-hotels: With the aim to better monitor patients´ conditions and provide adequate medical care at Covid-hotels, trainings will be provided to the medical staff on the management of Covid-19 mild cases and critical conditions before transferring to hospital.

    Organize trainings to medical staff of covid-hotels on the specifics of communication and care for persons with special needs. With the purpose to ensure quality care and equal accessibility to medical services at covid-hotels for all groups of patients, the training will be delivered for Covid-hotel staff on the specifics of various types of disabilities, as well as communication with the patients with special needs.

    Supply rural doctors with PPE, pulse-oximeters and IT equipment in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. In close relationship with Emergency Situation Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center, the project will supply personal protective equipment, pulse-oximeters and computers to rural doctors in Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti region, close to Abkhazia borderline. With this activity project supports operation of primary healthcare in rural areas in terms of covid19 pandemic.

    Overall, the project directly targets to more than 500 doctors and nurses and the population of Samgrelo-Upper Svaneti region.
